Sculpture

“Sculpture, for me, is a way of entering new terrain, abstract, unconscious thought. The wood, the flaws, the accidents, the ants and termites, weather,
splitting, rotting, all play a part in the end. 

I usually have no plan, and process carries me along, sometimes reveling in roughness, chain saw marks, rasp scratches, sanded smoothness; then a surface, sometimes sunburnt oil, oil paint, house paint, ink, or maybe just weathering. A matter of discovery.”
